摘要: Acute stress results in local inflammation that is regulated by glucocorticoids (GCs), while chronic can result systemic often accompanied adverse health outcomes. Many studies have documented gender differences the HPA axis and inflammatory responses contributing to different patterns of diseases susceptibilities between men women. Women typically mount a stronger immune response bacterial infection protecting them infectious but may increase susceptibility autoimmune disorders. Men are more susceptible at lower risks for Few explored GC sensitivity as primary mechanism regulating reactivity responses. In this study, we exposed healthy young old male female adults psychosocial stressor studied in-vitro measured Dexamethasone inhibition lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated interleukin-6 (IL-6) production. We found increased males compared older males, which has been previously described. However there were no significant sensitivities younger females. Our data does not support our hypothesis main factor sex seen neuroendocrine However, fact changes with age cortisol might be reflection neuroendocrine-immune feedback loop. women, less efficient higher diseases.
