摘要: EDM has become an important and cost-effective method of machining extremely tough brittle electrically conductive materials. It is widely used in the process making moulds dies sections complex geometry intricate shapes. The workpiece material selected this experiment AISI 304 Stainless steel taking into account its wide usage industrial applications. In today’s world stainless contributes to almost half world’s production consumption for purposes. input variable parameters are current, pulse on time duty cycle. Taguchi applied create L27 orthogonal array variables using Design Experiments (DOE). effect mentioned above upon characteristics such as Material Removal Rate (MRR), Surface Roughness (SR) Overcut (OC) studied investigated. tool copper. results obtained showed that current was most significant parameter followed by least cycle entire three responses namely removal rate, roughness overcut. With increase MRR increased but it only up 100 µs then started decrease. SR significantly with current; after there no increase; case 70% OC different fashion cycle, decreasing.
