摘要: Objective The prevalence and prognostic significance of nontraumatic hypotension measured in the emergency department (ED) have not been studied. We hypothesized that ED confers risk in-hospital mortality. Design Prospective cohort study. Setting Large urban with 115,000 visits per year. Participants Nontrauma patients aged > 17 years admitted to hospital were prospectively identified on a random sample 24-h blocks during 2004 2005. "Exposures" had any systolic BP (SBP) Outcome measures Mortality rates compared confidence intervals (CIs), Kaplan-Meier survival curves, multivariate logistic regression. Results A total 4,790 enrolled study period, 887 (19%) exposure group. Exposures more likely die nonexposures (8% vs 3%; 95% CI for difference 5%, 4 8%). sudden unexpected death (2% 0.2%, 1.8%, 1 3%). estimates showed increased mortality group at all time points (log-rank test, p Conclusion Nontraumatic was documented 19% hospital. Patients exposed significantly hospitalization.
