摘要: Many theories have been advanced concerning the causes of cleft palate. Early attempted to explain this developmental defect by abnormal mechanical influences. Abnormal pressure mandible and tongue, 1 interposition extremities, 2 tumors 3 or supernumerary teeth 4 were blamed for failure union various parts which constitute normal Amniotic amniotic bands received special attention as possible facial clefts. 5 Hydrocephalus causing broadening base skull was also mentioned. 6 None these could be sufficiently supported, it is thought today that conditions once considered causative only accidental collateral abnormalities found in affected persons.
