摘要: The short-term processes of reduction Fe(III) oxides to dissolved, adsorbed, and solid Fe(II), discussed previously (van Breemen, 1987), often have important consequences over decades, centuries, or millennia. This Chapter deals with a number long-term Fe redox processes. First, the process ferrolysis, hypothesized by Brinkman (1970), will be explain properties seasonally flooded soils. Ferrolysis is cyclic in waterlogged soils that starts displacement adsorbed cations Fe(II). Under suitable hydrologic conditions, displaced may lost leaching. resulting soil acidification affects clay mineralogical composition morphology surface soil.
