摘要: Abstract The presence of pharmaceutical and personal care products drugs abuse (PPCPs) in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) indicates discharge the effluent may not be suitable for ecological balance water ecosystems, such as wetlands. These PPCPs degrade quality, considered an ecosystem service (ES), provoking serious environmental impacts. Assessing monetary value can used a proxy status ES quality (ESWQ). Considering non-desirable outputs WWTPs, shadow prices methodology has been implemented using directional distance function to measure avoided cost removing salicylic acid (SA), methylparaben (MP), THCOOH from WWTPs effluents discharged Albufera Natural Park (Spain). SA shows highest price (138.16 €/μg), followed by (48.15 €/μg), MP (30.66 €/μg). values are interpreted that would if SA, MP, were removed effluents. non-parametric tests show technology, together with population equivalent (as size urban areas) seasonality factors influence obtained. approach this study highlights use indicators ESWQ quantified units.
