摘要: Aquilaria produces fragrant wood known as ‘gaharu’ in its stem and branches, often mature damaged trees. In this study, anatomical characteristics juvenile trees were investigated by comparing their structures after various staining methods direct observations under a light microscope. Juvenile share similar structures. No major differences observed other than the percentage of area covered included phloem was 2.16 times more that wood. Microscopic observation revealed resinous wood, brownish bodies found ray axial parenchyma, phloem, xylem vessels fibres, finding indicates these are important elements for depositing. Thus, it concluded tree possess features producing ‘gaharu’.
