摘要: A simple model allowing the description and visualization of bonding in solids terms classical chemical concepts bond order valence was proposed. The is based on straightforward generalization Wiberg indices, which are known to mimic pattern interactions ordinary isolated molecules, infinite periodical structures. picture applications this idealized 1D, 2D 3D lattices remarkably reminiscent proposed a long time ago by Pauling describe nature metallic bonding. It implies that addition small fraction electrons involved covalent with nearest neighbors, majority have character “mobile” electrons, responsible for build-up properties studied solids.
