摘要: Transdisciplinary (TD) research is increasingly recognized as a crucial response to global environmental and social challenges. To support this response, there growing need create spaces where graduate researchers can learn the skills dispositions needed for effective TD research. One way develop such by building supportive community of practice (CoP). In chapter, we reflect on nested set CoPs established at Institute Sustainable Futures (ISF), University Technology Sydney. ISF’s postgraduate programme CoP in 2002 draw together diverse group disparate, disconnected students. We briefly outline activities that within their links dispositions, before offering detailed critical reflection role our annual residential retreat supporting mutual learning. Our draws feedback evaluations conducted each year. Over 2 days retreat, students supervisors engage thematic learning discussions developed facilitated collaboratively participants. reflections highlight many tensions be navigated point importance nurturing relations trust foundation collective The landscape rocky terrain alike, benefits enormously from, indeed, perhaps requires, an or similar activity nurture thriving scholars.
