摘要: Efficacy of 30 min fumigations at 2,500, 3,700, and 4,600 ppm hydrogen cyanide (HCN) was tested in the laboratory as a treatment against representative Hawaiian quarantine pests. Effective results were obtained for nymphs adults banana aphid, Pentalonia nigroneroosa Coquerel, red ginger flowers;an armored scale, Pseudaulacaspis cockerelli (Cooley), on oleander leaves; green Coccus viridis (Green), ixora coconut mealybug, Nipaecoccus nipae (Maskell), palm. Other species mealybugs ants also susceptible to treatment, particularly highest concentration. Mostnymphs thrips, Sciothrips cardamomi (Ramakrishna), flowers survived all concentrations fumigation. All an orchid weevil, Orchidophilus aterrimus (Waterhouse), treatment. The suitability HCN fumigation is discussed.
