摘要: The ciliate genus Uronychia is a marine group with extremely differentiated cortical and ciliary structures. These structures define its unique evolutionary position in the whole subclass Euplotia. However, to date, few data about ultrastructure of this related taxa available. In present work, dominant species, binucleata, was investigated using scanning electron microscopy transmission microscopy. findings are as follows: (i) species lacks typical alveolar plate cortex, whereas abundant electron-lucent vesicular occurred densely; (ii) subpellicular microtubules form triad configuration dorsal side, while appearing single ventral side; (iii) granules extrusomes, which represent kind mucocyst instead ampules; (iv) two kinetosomes different rows one cirrus linked by longitudinal connection; (v) undulating membrane highly developed their insides outsides partially covered flap; (vi) single-membrane-bound pharyngeal disks interposed microtubular sheets, distributed three distinct zones. This first detailed report ultrastructural features will be key improve diagnosis systematics widely ecologically important family Uronychiidae.
