Community Willingness to Participate in a Dengue Study in Aceh Province, Indonesia

摘要: Background Dengue virus infection is the most rapidly spreading vector-borne disease in world. Essential research on dengue transmission and its prevention requires community participation. Therefore, it crucial to understand factors that are associated with willingness of communities high prevalence areas participate research. The aim this study was explore healthy members Aceh province, Indonesia, would require phlebotomy. Methodology/Principal Findings A community-based cross-sectional carried out nine regencies municipalities from November 2014 March 2015. Interviews using a set validated questionnaires were conducted collect data demography, history infection, socioeconomic status, knowledge, attitude practice regarding fever. Two-step logistic regression Spearman’s rank correlation (rs) analysis used assess influence independent variables dependent variables. Among 535 participants, less than 20% had good study. being female, working as civil servant, private employee or entrepreneur, having status dengue. Good knowledge positive predictors (OR: 2.30 [95% CI: 1.36–3.90] 3.73 2.24–6.21], respectively).
