摘要: Generally, lessons learned in the construction, operation, and maintenance of a facility are not effectively fed back as input to design and construction phases of new projects. Traditional methods collecting and disseminating lessons-learned construction projects have enjoyed limited success due to: (1) unreliable communication channels between construction experts practitioners, (2) lack meaningful classification system, (3) unmanageable format that made it difficult to access, retrieve update potentially enormous volume lessons, (4) the difficulty integrating systems into existing operations and procedures, (5) focus on failures or incidents, rather than both positive negative experiences with constructed facilities. If the experience at site could be captured and incorporated dynamic, interactive, knowledge based information system, then great benefits realized this information is utilized in future Constructability and maintainability can enhanced, more efficient can be utilized, quality safety maximized total life cycle costs minimized. This paper presents knowledge-intensive database system for constructability improvement. Construction were collected; framework classifying, storing disseminating lessons was designed; prototype system was developed, tested validated. This used: an assistant decision-making tool by engineers foremen contractors, educational training tool by undergraduate graduate students civil engineering Kuwait University.
