摘要: Surgery remains an essential therapeutic modality in the contemporary management of malignant gliomas. In appropriate patients, extent surgical resection can be shown to important determinant length survival. Resection removes cells that are otherwise inherently resistant other modalities, improves or stabilizes neurologic function, potentiates effects therapies and facilitates their delivery. Some patients would not survive receive further treatment without beneficial craniotomy. The safety efficacy open have been greatly improved through application microsurgical techniques image-based localization. who neurologically intact lesions smaller than 2 cm critical locations, image-guided stereotactic biopsy is a reasonable alternative. Image-guided stereotaxy also used deliver interstitial chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hyperthermia brachytherapy. Hybrid techniques, which imagebased localization guide resection, becoming increasingly reducing morbidity patient stay. Within context aggressive multimodality therapy program, technological advances increased indications for repeat surgery.
