摘要: BACKGROUND AND AIM Anterior cerebral artery, one of the terminal branches internal carotid artery is an important vessel taking part in formation circle Willis. It supplies a large medial surface hemisphere containing areas motor and somatosensory cortices lower limb. Aim this study was morphometry A1 segment anterior artery. MATERIALS METHODS 93 formalin fixed brain specimen either sex Indian origin were studied. The mean length, external diameter anomalies present studied detail photographed. RESULTS length 14.49+/-0.28 mm 14.22+/-0.22 on right left side respectively. 2.12+/-0.07 2.32+/-0.06 Narrowing, aneurysm formation, buttonhole median seen with occurrence 15.05%, 5.37%, 3.22% 12.9%, above did not have any or predilection. CONCLUSION Knowledge will be use to neurosurgeons while performing shunt operation, assessing feasibility such operations choice patients. From we infer that varies different population operating should thorough knowledge possible variations.
