摘要: Cells are held together either by direct cell-cell contact or adhesion to extra-cellular matrix. Cell-cell in epithelial cell sheets consists of junctions, i.e. tight-, adherens- and gap-junctions. The adherens which build up the cadherin/catenin complex, main topic this review, especially aspect its role ovarian tumor biology. surface epithelium is origin for approximately 90% malignant tumors. tumors arise from inclusion cysts, localized stroma grow solid, cystic mixed formations. Intra-abdominal spread cancer common a process that theoretically could be closely connected with impaired adhesion. However, as we stand today, descriptive functional studies on cadherin-catenin complex signaling tumorigenesis reveals data suggests conversion mesothelial-like cells more phenotype normal prior differentiation. In later stages, invasive still strongly express several cadherins, contrary many other tumors, prostate thyroid adenocarcinomas.
