摘要: Careful laboratory evaluation of sentinel nodes (SNs) is critical to determine the presence tumor. This requires multiple full-face sections from SN, using H&E staining and immunohistochemistry. In future, molecular genetic approaches may be adjunctive microscopy. Number tumor-positive SNs amount location tumor in correlate with spread non-sentinel nodes, subsequent recurrences melanoma death, permitting patient assignment a risk category.
