A roadmap for higher research quality in humanitarian operations: A methodological perspective

摘要: Abstract Given the substantial costs of natural and man-made disasters (i.e., mortality, morbidity, financial losses), scholars in operations management research have conducted extensive last decade a humanitarian setting. A total 43 studies that reviewed papers on disaster operation pointed out gaps this field study were published from 2006 to 2018. To enhance rigor relevance future studies, paper focuses methodological aspect operations. The highlights set vital items should be considered when conducting setting: including problem structuring, understanding contextual factors setting, acknowledging uncertainties operations, incorporating uncertainty model, enabling technologies model development implementation, selecting appropriate data methods. In addition, suggests meta-process for target higher level quality implications authors reviewers manuscripts proposals are discussed section paper.
