摘要: Accurate estimations of nestling ages are often required for studies life history traits and breeding strategies avian species. Yet detailed information on species-specific developmental patterns chicks is scarce. In this study, we present comprehensive data plumage behavioural development New Zealand fantail (Rhipidura fuliginosa placabilis) during the nesting period. We also provide an illustrated guide to ageing nestlings using visual traits, based daily characteristics 15 broods. This study contributes towards understanding species as well forming a foundation future comparative history.
