摘要: The mechanisms and effectiveness of water mist, used to extinguish pool fires, were examined in a series experiments conducted an open space. Fire sources contained small-scale circular stainless steel pans 13 cm 20 diameter, the fuels alcohol kerosene. Before after application K-type thermocouples along centerline infrared thermography measure visualize flame temperature. A thermogauge turbine flux sensor radiant heat rate water, respectively. experimental results revealed that neither flames or kerosene could be extinguished most cases when mist supply pressures lower than 0.4 MPa. distance between nozzle, are two main factors influencing extinction fire working pressure is low. test also show larger diameter is, easier can extinguished.
