Policing 802.11 MAC Misbehaviours

摘要: With the increasing availability of flexible wireless 802.11 devices, potential exists for users to selfishly manipulate their channel access parameters and gain a performance advantage. Such practices can have severe negative impact on compliant stations. To enable points counteract these selfish behaviours preserve fairness in networks, this paper we propose policing mechanism that drives misbehaving into operation without requiring any cooperation from clients. This approach is demonstrably effective against broad class misbehaviours, soundly-based, i.e., provably hard circumvent amenable practical implementation existing commodity hardware.
