摘要: The impact of a highway expansion on school adjacent to the is investigated with novel method called Sustained Wind Incidence Method (SWIM). SWIM falls under broad group environmental forensics methods where measured concentration data are used identify possible contributors such as point, line or sectional source. helps potential sources by highlighting spatial domains associated markers unique contributors. In this study, traffic related emissions. marker measure due black carbon (BC), key emission mostly large vehicles (>12 m in length), collected both before and after expanded lanes were open for use. Using method, multiple source may be simultaneously identified. For collection site was situated at about 20 meters from sound wall (7 high) separating highway. results show that road expansions have impacted patterns nearby non–highway feeder on–ramp (adjacent wall) This sector showed surprisingly larger change than observed increase their relative contribution receptor site.
