摘要: The Corncrake survey carried out on the Nemunėlis River valley and at edge of Biržų Giria forest in 1998-1999 has revealed this area, partially neglected by people, to be distinguished very high density. In 43-km-long transect from Kvetkai Nemunėlio Radviliskis, 57 ‘singing’ male Corncrakes were recorded 1998 73 1999. highest density was observed part with low-intensity farming meadows edge. high-intensity averaged 0.85 pairs/km2 1.05 1999, while that – 0.67 0.65 pairs/km2, respectively. We consider some 500-600 pairs breed Biržai Region. On current intensity, will maintained without special measures conservation.
