摘要: This chapter discusses the production and use of mathematical notations by elementary school students, ways children make sense symbols physical devices designed for instruction. I summarize a couple my own investigations on children’s representational activity, focusing microgenesis number tables built paper. The analyses show: (1) evolving shifting nature meanings inscriptions in representation; (2) how competence interacts with social material circumstances specific setting; (3) contents representation affords certain goals to emerge while weakening emergence others; (4) function representations as basis activity. From theoretical point view, this research springs from framework sociocultural, activity-oriented view learning thinking, interrelationship among mediated action, signs meanings.
