摘要: Cold-shock stress happens when a fish had been adjusted to specific water temperature or range of temperatures and is consequently exposed rapid drop in temperature, resulting cascade physiological behavioral responses and, some cases, death. In the current study, response striped Catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) was studied by evaluating serum cortisol glucose level following an abrupt reduction (from 28°C 15°C) at different time points (prior to, after 1h, 12h 24h cold treatment, respectively). Regardless mortality occurred challenged fish, none parameters changed during evaluation period. The results, suggesting that despite necessity any assessment, yet, due their high variability species, additional complementary tests such as measurement other hormones e.g. heat shock proteins well blood-cell counts (preferably chronic experiments) should also be included.
