摘要: Objectives Information on clinical characteristics, pattern of initial treatment and survival in patient with upper-tract urothelial carcinomas (UTUC) is scarce. Our study examined the racial/ethnic differences patients diagnosed incident UTUC. Design Observational study. The data analyses included: proportion ANOVA for categorical continuous variables, respectively; Kaplan-Meier method calculating overall survival; Cox-proportional hazards models obtaining adjusted hazard-ratios. Setting Regions Surveillance, Epidemiology End Results (SEER). Patients or participants 16,702 UTUC identified from SEER dataset 1988-2007 (14,192 White, 967 Hispanic, 718 African American 825 Asian). Interventions None. Main outcome measures Race/ethnicity-specific distributions demographics, tumor patterns treatment, survival. Hispanic were at a younger age than Whites Asians (P = .001). Hispanics more likely to be larger size Conclusions found that had worse characteristics presentation other groups this study, but their risk dying was lower. Further research needed include number Asian examine subgroup confirm paradoxical finding higher poor characteristics.
