摘要: The objective of this study is to develop a gametogenesis protocol serve as model for evaluating the toxic effects chemicals on oogenesis and spermatogenesis in eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica). compound 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (2,3,7,8-TCDD) was selected “proof principle” toxicant examine developmental toxicity invertebrate system. studies were designed to: (1) test using 2,3,7,8-TCDD (2) use histopathological evaluations characterize oocyte sperm development during stages gametogenesis. at 10 pg/g resulted significant gonadal lesions by day 14 both female male oysters. These complete inhibition gonadogenesis. Studies also showed that total body dose 2 caused adverse responses resulting abnormal oysters, respectively, such as: incomplete division, growth maturation, (3) unsynchronized development, (4) spermatogenesis. one most responsive models tested date reproductive chemicals. Therefore, can be used sensitive toxicological examining dioxin-like compounds other xenobiotics reported show environmentally relevant concentrations (2–10 pg/g) have effect
