摘要: Objectives. To investigate whether the presence of hippocampal atrophy (HCA) on MRI in Alzheimer's disease (AD) leads to a more rapid decline cognitive function. cognitively unimpaired controls and depressed subjects with HCA are at higher risk than those without developing dementia. Design. A prospective follow-up from previously reported study. Setting. Melbourne, Australia. Participants. Five five age-matched HCA, seven 12 clinically diagnosed probable AD were studied. They followed up approximately 2 years repeat testing, blind initial diagnosis result. Measures. was rated by two radiologists test score results. Cognitive assessment Cambridge Examination (CAMCOG). Results. No significant differences rate decline, mortality or progression dementia found between HCA. Conclusions. not be predictor subsequent this series.
