摘要: Through an analysis of policy texts, population statistics and a targeted sample from the popular press, this paper both furthers knowledge about changing meanings working motherhood in contemporary US, proposes refinement to existing conceptual work relating how wage-work care-work are combined. I focus on recent US social which grants new rights protections for women seeking combine lactation (the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act 2011). critique through Bernise Hausman’s politics motherhood, arguing that it represents form work-life integration is particularly burdensome mothers. further argue maternal practice as well expectations being reshaped around demands neoliberalism, producing what term ‘neoliberal motherhood’. assert way combining not captured within feminist theory, suggest re-working theory area needed order address cases embodied enfolded time space wage-work.
