摘要: Many diseases as atherosclerosis and metabolic dysfunctions are known to correlate with changes of the lipid profile tissues body fluids. Therefore, importance reliable methods analysis is obvious. Although matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) was so far primarily used for protein analysis, this method has itself proven be very useful in too. This review provides an overview applications MALDI-TOF MS summarizes specific advantages drawbacks modern soft-ionization method. The focus will on fluids cells well diagnostic potential field. It shown that spectra can recorded a short time provide important information fatty acyl composition lipids unknown sample. However, it also only selected classes (in particular those quaternary ammonia groups phosphatidylcholine) detected if crude mixtures analyzed they more sensitively detectable than other ones. ends outlook emphasizing current methodological developments.
