摘要: The holographic principle has become an extraordinary tool in theoretical physics, most notably the form of Anti-deSitter Conformal Field Theory (AdS/CFT ) correspondence, which classical gravitational degrees freedom N -dimensions are related quantum field theory 1 dimensions limit a large number fields. Here we present account AdS/CFT also known as gauge/gravity duality, from its origins ’tHooft expansion, up to Maldacena’s proposal that type IIB string presence D-branes at low energy is dual = 4, d U(N) super Yang-Mills on AdS5 ⇥ S 5 . We begin with extensive review (super)string including D-branes. then general formulation supergravity background , along several examples how it used terms identification bulk fields operators boundary CFT. move discuss two applications duality. first application correspondence QCD k-string. second applies formalism Kerr black hole solution embedded 10-dimensional heterotic sting theory. These duality comprise original work presented here. follow summaries and discussions material, work, future investigations. vi TABLE OF CONTENTS LIST TABLES xi FIGURES xii CHAPTER
