摘要: Recently a T to C substitution in the mitochondrial targeting sequence of manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) gene was observed that changes amino acid protein from valine (V) alanine (A) and is associated with decreased defense capacity against oxidative stress. We investigated whether this polymorphism MnSOD increased risk for colorectal cancer among Hispanics non-Hispanic whites. All controls (63 Hispanic, 58 non-Hispanic) cases (64 61 were genotyped using fluorogenic 5'-nuclease assay. The frequency 0.62 disease-free 0.51 whites controls. Patients homozygous (24/64) showed mean age 37.6 years compared 42.3 heterozygotes (29/64) 48.4 V (p=0.045, ANOVA). data demonstrate -9Val/-9Ala common than Furthermore, suggest may be an develop at Hispanics.
