摘要: Despite substantial problems with intimate partner violence (IPV) worldwide, the empirical support remains weak for effectiveness of recidivism-reducing interventions IPV perpetrators. We conducted a controlled study Integrated Domestic Abuse Program (IDAP), manual-based group intervention adult male offenders. A consecutive series 340 convicted offenders who began IDAP in Swedish Prison and Probation Services 2004 to 2007 were compared 452 contemporary, offender controls. obtained follow-up reconviction data from National Crime Register used Cox regression model versus regular treatment. Treated control subjects all followed until March 2, 2011, an average time-at-risk 4.6 years (median 4.4, SD = 1.0). Twenty-five percent ( n 84) participants recidivated any 23% controls 104); corresponding figures specifically 19% 65) 84), respectively. Intention-to-treat analyses adjusted individual baseline risk time suggested marginally non-significantly lower rates (hazard ratio [HR] 0.92, 95% confidence interval [CI] [0.69, 1.23] HR CI [0.66, 1.28] IPV, respectively). Hence, possible effects this cross-cultural validation small impossible secure statistically. To remedy frustrating lack proven effective treatments offenders, better should be developed tested. Such efforts could benefit improved knowledge about IPV-specific, causal factors more powerful treatment combinations.
