摘要: An ethnopharmacognostic survey on the traditional pharmaceutical knowledge (TPhK) of old and newly introduced natural remedies used for healing humans in a small mountainous area Central Lucania, inland southern Italy, was carried out using classical ethnographical ethnobiological methods. Approximately 110 plant origin (belonging to 103 botanical taxa), 30 animal 20 mineral or industrial (non-pharmaceutical) products were recorded. Moreover, diverse medicinal plants medical purposes few biological ingredients food preparations with aim improve human health identified. Pharmacological toxicological considerations relating possible applications recorded modern evidence-based medicine discussed well. The data that we present here could suggest new inputs further phytochemical pharmacological studies among Mediterranean folk pharmacopoeias, also sustaining environmentally integrated projects focused maintenance TPhK via breeding controlled gathering activities local species.
