摘要: It is well established that color centers (CCs) produced by ionizing radiation or short-wave of the pump lamp, strongly influence optical characteristics yttrium-aluminium garnet (YAG) single crystals. Many publica tions, including reviews and monographs [1-3], are devoted to this problem. Tle most thoroughly investigated aspect was various types (gamma quanta, electrons, neutrons) on performance YAG crystals activated with Nd ions [2]. The CCs, arising in crystals, absorb not only light but also laser light, significantly increasing energy losses [4]. Creating at wavelength [5], CCs reduce slope efficiency. In Ref. [6] improvement Nd:YAG lasers reported as an effect small dose gamma electron irradiation. During investigations particular attention paid Cr3+ ions, because they sensibilize medium but, certain concentrations, may susceptibility effects [7].
