摘要: The purpose of the study is to examine how several well-known correlates nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) might work together contribute occurrence this behavior. Specifically, we examined models including child abuse, psychiatric comorbidity, and disinhibition, testing these factors may lead NSSI in past month. Participants (n=194; 144 female; age 13–18 years) were recruited from a short-term, acute adolescent residential unit. Within 48 hours admission hospital participants completed structured clinical interviews assessing mental disorders patterns NSSI. Following interviews, self-report questionnaire childhood abuse computerized continuous performance task. Consistent with hypotheses, results revealed that association between partially mediated by comorbidity. Although disinhibition associated contrary our hypothesis, does not mediate relation Collectively, findings provide new information about comorbidity increase risk for NSSI, critically, discuss potential importance creating targeted programs reduce prevalence abuse.
