摘要: Background: The endotracheal tube (ETT) cuff pressure must be in a safe range that ensures delivery of the prescribed mechanical ventilation tidal volume, reduces risk for aspiration secretions accumulate above cuff, and does not compromise tracheal perfusion. Maintaining ETT within an optimal is challenging because many factors influence pressure, such as patient’s position suctioning, so monitoring maintaining normal considered one important roles critical care nurses. Aim: to examine effectiveness adjustment on attaining inflation elderly critically ill patients. Subjects Methods: A Quasi experimental study was conducted 33 patients admitted CCU department selected hospital. Data were collected using Pressure record (ETT cPR) designed by researchers. Results: Cuff readings changed both control days overtime. number cP adjustments ranged from 2 3 times per patient (mean, 2.09; SD, .89), 81.16 % these add air cuff. Addition only intervention 22 patients, whereas removal 4 Conclusion: fluctuating effective there improvement with day comparing day. Recommendation: Frequent needed all intubated nurses should trained maintain range.
