摘要: Farmers can generate environmental benefits (improved water quality and fisheries wildlife habitat), but they may not be able to quantify them. Furthermore, farmers reduce their incomes from managing lands produce these positive externalities receive little monetary compensation in return. This study simulated the relationship between agricultural practices, quality, fish responses suspended sediment farm income within two small watersheds, one of a cool stream warm stream. Using Agricultural Drainage Pesticide Transport (ADAPT) model, this related best management practices (BMPs) calculated instream concentrations by estimating delivery, runoff, base flow, streambank erosion effects exposure on communities. By implementing selected BMPs each watershed, annual net declined $18,000 $28,000 (1 3 percent) previous levels. Lethal events sediments watershed decreased 60 percent as conservation tillage riparian buffers increased. Despite reducing 25 percent, did negative response fisheries. Differences (physical biological) watersheds highlight potential gains economic efficiency targeting or offering performance based green payments.
