摘要: ABSTRACT Three taxa of Sciuridae are recognized from the early Hemingfordian (early Miocene) Thomas Farm locality, Gilchrist County, Florida. Petauristodon pattersoni, sp. nov. is a large “flying squirrel” that distinguished Barstovian species P. mathewsi and jamesi by presence complete metalophs on upper cheekteeth anteroconids lower cheekteeth. has been tentatively assigned to subfamily Petauristinae but its relationships Old World flying squirrels not clear. Nototamias hulberti, gen. et small chipmunk-like sciurid, Recent sister posteriorly placed mental foramen masseteric fossa fused roots molars. N. hulberti differs Clarendonian ateles smaller size absence metaconules An isolated M3 provisionally referred cf. Miospermophilus
