摘要: We use scanning near-field optical microscopy to study the spatial structure of electromagnetic resonance modes in a high-Q dielectric microcavity whispering-gallery mode type. Direct observation on surface allows us estimate numbers individual resonances. In this way we are able identify those having most suitable characteristics (high Q, low volume) for proposed experiments with these microcavities. Furthermore believe that our demonstrating ability manipulate microscopic objects volume suggest one which interaction between and atoms or molecules could be studied.
