摘要: Factors hypothesized to impact Asian American responses counseling were tested as mediators and moderators of perceived counselor credibility working alliance. European college students (N = 182) assigned randomly view simulated directive or nondirective therapy approaches. Mediation analyses examined whether ethnic group differences in initial perceptions accounted for by therapist understandability previous experiences. Moderation expectations therapy, ambiguity tolerance, resistance influenced across counseling. Americans rated the approaches significantly less favorably than Europeans Americans. A significant mediation effect was found understandability, whereas a moderation expectation on credibility.
