摘要: Abstract The effects of allelochemicals may play an important role, indirectly, in determining chenopod community structure the arid and semi-arid zones Western Australia. aqueous methanol extracts leaves four species were assayed at 0.006, 0.06, 0.63, 1.55, 3.12, 6.25 g l−1 0.025, 0.25, 2.5, 6.25, 12.5, 25 g l−1 respectively, for allelopathy. tested with widely used lettuce seed test on seeds themselves. Seed germination was inhibited concentrations ranging from 3.12 6.26 g l−1 tests indicating presence allelopathic substances. inhibition root shoot growth also observed seed. chenopods, Enchylaena tomentosa R. Br. Maireana georgei (Diels) Paul G. Wilson, by Atriplex bunburyana F. Muell. codonocarpa Wilson. A. not, contrast, affected derived E. M. georgei. All susceptible to allelopathy isolated their own respective species. Interestingly, promoted a 0.006 g l−1 extract its leaves. results this study strongly suggest that be possible mechanism controlling timing seedling establishment.
