摘要: Ancient DNA (aDNA) analysis is a powerful tool in multidisciplinary research on human remains, potentially leading to kinship scenarios and historical identifications. In this study, we present genetic investigation of three noble families from the 17th 19th centuries AD entombed burial crypts at cloister church Riesa (Germany). Tests were aimed identifying anticipated incidental relationships our sample implications thereof for assumed identity deceased. A total 17 individuals investigated via morphological, radiographic aDNA analysis, yielding complete partial autosomal Y-STR profiles reliable mtDNA sequences. Biostatistics lineage markers revealed presence first third degree within cohort. The pedigrees Hanisch/von Odeleben von Welck thereby successfully reproduced, while four previously unknown could be linked Felgenhauer family. However, limitations biostatistical became evident when scenario went beyond simple relationships. combined with archaeological data records resulted (almost) unambiguous identification 14 individuals.
