摘要: AIM To compare usual care with key recommendations for venous ulcer management in the New Zealand Guidelines Care of People Chronic Leg Ulcers. METHOD A cohort participants enrolled arm HALT trial had their compared to four treatment recommendations: compression (use high compression); dressing selection simple dressings); pentoxifylline (trial if not tolerant or failure progress alone); and hosiery after healing (remain prevent recurrence). RESULTS 181 were arm, 25 Auckland, 60 Counties Manukau, 41 Waikato, 55 Christchurch. Compression--all received compression. Dressings--simple dressings accounted just 29% used. Moist medicated 35% 36% respectively, but 95% costs. Pentoxifylline--only one participant used when up 97 (54%) candidate patients. Compression healing--70% healed at 12 weeks regional variation use. CONCLUSION use was consistent guideline recommendations, although could improve. Dressing did match recommendations. Three offer opportunities improving clinical effectiveness, some potential cost savings.
