摘要: Abstract A major late Paleozoic depocentre, the Sverdrup Basin, Canadian High Arctic, has been largely left out of latest Permian extinction debate, as early workers presumed Middle to Late strata were absent. Basin-scale sequence-stratigraphic and chemostratigraphic correlations indicate are only missing on basin margins, where they removed by sub-Triassic erosion, whereas continuous deposition is recorded in centre. The varying degree erosion significant impact carbon-isotope record across Latest Extinction event, both apparent rate magnitude shift vary a function position. intrabasin variability δ13Corg event equivalent that observed globally. In contrast abrupt isotope shifts margin, similar many records reported globally, centre section shows systematic associated with Extinction.
