摘要: INTRODUCTION: The vector competence of triatomine insects is determined by studying their biology and feeding behavior under field and/or laboratory conditions. Factors including the number bites, amount blood ingested defecation time have implications for trypanosome transmission. biological behavioral parameters Rhodnius neglectus R. robustus were compared experimental conditions to estimate differences in potential transmission trypanosomes. METHODS: observed daily determine period nymphal development, mortality, detection food source, meal intake, ingested, elapsed between end first frequency defecation. RESULTS: Although development (156.4 ± 25.05d) was lower than that (204.7 13.22d), mortality species similar (63.8 65% respectively).R. quickly located especially instar (2.5 1.6 min, respectively). intake species, a larger on average at all stages exhibited higher values fifth instar. Nymphs bit more frequently, they defecated faster often those robustus. CONCLUSIONS: Under conditions, has greater Trypanosoma cruzi T. rangeli does robustus, an attribute should be further evaluated infections.
