摘要: Three questions are raised with respect to the use of sign language as an alternative system communication for nonverbal autistic children. First, does teaching a child facilitate speech development? The data suggest that following simultaneous training, mute children not likely learn talk; however, combination training and separate vocal may have synergetic effect on development. In contrast, who initially good verbal imitation skills apparently show gains in alone. Second, what is upper limit acquisition? Data abstract concepts, syntax, generative can be taught.
