摘要: Head and neck cancer constitutes one of the commonest malignancies in Yemen. There may be a role for use Shamma Zarda Khat increase HNC This study was conducted retrospectively with an overall aim to describe pattern head cancers among Yemeni patients attending Oncology Department Al-Gamhouria Teaching Hospital, Aden, period from Jan. 2001 Dec. 2004. The included 183 (Lymphoma thyroid were excluded), 134 males (73.2%) 49 females (26.8%) , male female ratio 2.7:1. mean age 51.3 +/- 14.9 years (range: 3 - 82 years). Statistically, there is significant difference between (49.5 15.1 years) (45.4 16.3 [t= 2.1, p: 0.03]. common types this are oral cavity (31.7%), followed by pharyngeal (22.9%) laryngeal (19.1%). In relation sex, statistical relationship certain sex (p: 0.0000). males, (22.7%), (22.1%) (20.8%). histopathological type well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma (70.5%). concluded that health problems affecting recommended further wide national studies determine real incidence risk factors associated such cancer.
