摘要: Objective We investigated the surgical anatomy of sphenopalatine artery. First, location foramen on lateral nasal wall and pattern main branches artery from were studied. Second, course posterior with respect to maxillary sinus, perpendicular plate palatine bone, distribution its fontanelle was determined. Third, inferior turbinate analyzed. Study Design Fifty midsagittal sections randomly selected Korean adult cadaver heads intact sphenoid sinus surrounding structures used in study. Methods The mucosa removed a microscissors, fine forceps, pick expose under an operating microscope (original magnification ×6). Results feeding vessels superior septal 36 cases (72%). middle branch originated proximal portion just after exiting 44 (88%). Some ran anterior 38%. major arteries 25 (50%). In most cases, end (98%). Conclusions study provides detailed information concerning artery, which we hope will help explain arterial bleeding that may occur during ethmoidectomy, meatal antrostomy, conchotomy, endoscopic ligation
