摘要: Abstract Low-velocity impact damage to composite laminates causes a complicated pattern of matrix cracks, fibre cracks and delamination. A significant effect this is reduce the strength laminate, particularly in compression; however, owing complexity precise mechanisms controlling reduction are unclear. In paper technique described for replicating artificially by including PTFE film delaminants cut plies during lay-up. Comparisons between real reproduced made demonstrate validity technique. Experimental methods X-radiography resin injection developed allow be assessed, both under tensile compressive loading. Under load caused found entirely due may estimated using net-section calculation. Meanwhile compression, largely redistribution stress resulting from buckling delaminated predicted calculating stresses undelaminated part laminate.
